Cohort / Chapter / Network
Cohort
A cohort is a group of 5-15 individuals who meet regularly for relational support, accountability, and care. They are our network's basic building block—the smallest fractal.
Cohorts are mutual communities of practice that are self-organized and independent, allowing freedom, creativity, and diversity of expression.
Each cohort will collaborate on a rule of life that addresses personal, relational, devotional, and vocational well-being. This rule of life serves as an annual covenant and the cohort’s application for membership in a chapter.
Chapter
A chapter is a group of 5-15 cohorts organized by geography or affinity that gathers 1-2 times a year. Its medium size makes it large enough to benefit from diversity and shared resources but still small enough to be grounded in relationships.
Chapters are responsible for providing credentialing and care for ministers, as well as avenues for partnership and collaboration among ministries and organizations.
Each chapter is also independent and self-organized and will collaborate on a Charter which serves as the chapter’s guiding document and application for membership in the network.
Network
All cohorts and chapters form the Wild Fig Network ecosystem through a commitment to shared purpose, principles, and practices.
A network base of operations will perform the following functions:
Plan an annual gathering to celebrate and collaborate on vision and collective action for the movement
Review chapter charters for alignment with the purpose, principles, and practices of the network
Provide organizational and infrastructure support (e.g. benefits, technology, professional services, annual gatherings, etc.), as well as adjudicatory functions.
