COHORTS
The primary purpose of cohorts is to provide a container for relationships and mutual care for ministers. Cohorts are our network's basic building block—the smallest fractal. They are relational communities of practice that are self-organized and independent, allowing freedom, creativity, and diversity of expression.
Any group of 4-5 people may start a cohort under the following conditions:
A commitment to the shared purpose, principles, and practices of the network
A commitment to a monthly rhythm of mutual relationships
Connection to a chapter and the network
The size of a cohort is limited by the quality of relationships that can be maintained. Since the purpose of a cohort is for ministers to be seen and known in a web of mutual care, we suggest that the maximum number of cohort members should be limited to 12 to 15 people.
Each cohort is to be facilitated by a core team of 3-4 members nominated and elected by the cohort.
Cohorts will engage in a rhythm of relationships and practices that address four areas of well-being: Personal, Relational, Devotional, Vocational.
Each cohort will collaborate on a Cohort Canvas that serves as:
An annual covenant for cohort members reflecting commitments to a shared rule of life (personal, relational, devotional, and vocational)
The cohort’s application for membership in a chapter and the Network
